Handa's Surprise...Fruits

In the story Handa's Surprise, the animals take 7 fruits from Handa's basket...we got to try 6 of the 7 fruits (we did fractions this week too!) but unfortunately Teacher Eoin couldn't find a guava! We tried a banana, an orange, a mango, a pineapple, an avocado (although nobody was brave enough to taste it) and a passion fruit!

Maasai Art

We read the book Handa's Surprise by Eileen Browne which is set in Kenya and features the Luo Tribe. Afterwards we made some necklaces for our art lesson based on another famous Kenyan tribe, the Maasai.
