Spring is Here!

In an effort to encourage the lovely Spring weather we have been having we made a Spring themed notice board for our corridor.

We each picked a colour of the rainbow and painted some sheets of paper. Then we made paper chains from the paper. We are going to make a rainbow from the pretty chains.

Next we made some pretty flowers by cutting and sticking.

Then we put it all together on our notice board.

Keep an eye on our board because you never know a leprechaun with his pot of gold might turn up at the end of the rainbow!

Pancake Tuesday

We had a blast today making pancakes in our class.

We measured out the flour.

Then we cracked in an egg and poured in some milk.

Then we used the electric mixer to mix it into a nice batter. We all took a turn.

We then spooned it into the pancake maker with adult help.

When they where cooked we got to put some lovely toppings on as a treat.

They where really yummy!

Valentine's Day

We like to celebrate saint Valentine's Day here in Kilcoskan.

We started a Valentine's Day project today. We used potatoes and cardboard to make some heart shaped stamps. We decorated some colourful card with the stamps. Tomorrow when it is dry we are going to make some cute presents for the special people in our lives. The potatoes really held the heart shape well and helped us make some lovely patterns!

Our finished project!

We made some lovely heart shaped pig cards for the special people in our lives.

We will write a special message inside and give them to our mams, dads, brothers and sisters next week.

Visit from our local Garda

Our local Garda from Finglas station came to visit us today.

They gave us a talk about all the things they carry with them when they are out on patrol.

They let us try on their hat!

They also were very nice to us and let us see the inside of their car.

Thankfully they didn't arrest us and let us out again so we could go back in to school!

We are looking forward to chatting to our local Garda again soon.

St Bridget's Day

Today we learnt about the story of St Bridget and her cloke.

We read the story and made some crosses with pipe cleaners to remind us of her.

The crosses can be quiet tricky to make as there is a certain method to them. But we all had a shot at it and did our best.
