Social Trips

We are very lucky and get to make social trips to a local restaurant near our school.

We get to practice lots of different skills during our trips. We get to order our drinks and pay for them. We also get to sit at a table with our friends and have a chat.

It was lovely and sunny today when we went for our walk so we decided to sit outside after we ordered our juice.

We brought a toy with us and we were able to talk about it with our friends.

We had lovely juice in the sun today.

It was a bit chilly today so we sat inside.

Saint Patrick's Day

We learnt all about how Saint Patrick used the shamrock to teach the Irish people about God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We dressed up in our finished hats on our last day.

We made our own shamrock hats today.

1916 Celebrations

Today Tuesday 15th of March 2016 we celebrated the proclamation of the 1916 rising. The whole school got together and created some very interesting projects which we displayed in our school for our parents to explore.

Here is a photo of our class project about James Kearney the grounds keeper of St Stephens green who managed to stop the fighting every day during the rising for an hour so he could feed the ducks in the park. After the war he was given a medal from the RSPCA for his work. We also displayed photos from our trip to Dublin City.

Then at 12pm we assembled at the front of the school to sing some songs and raise our tricolour.

Today we got to go to Dublin on a trip to explore several of the important sites that where significant during the 1916 rising. We got to explore the GPO, Trinity college and St. Stephens green. We had a ball exploring our capital city!

Having fun in the playground:

We are learning all about what happened in Dublin during the 1916 rising.

One of the stories we are leaning about is about James Kearney the park keeper for St Stephens Green.

He got the two sides to stop the fighting around St Stephens green every day for an hour during the rising so that he could feed the ducks in the park.

He got an award from the RSPCA for his good work. We are making a duck display for Tuesday we hope you will all be able to come into school for our flag raising ceremony.

Here we are having fun making our Ducks!

Mother's Day

We all have very special mothers in our lives. We wanted to let them know how much them mean to us.

We created a lovely flower display on canvas.

First we painted the canvas.

Next we painted the egg cartons which will become the flowers. We used nice bright colours to after we looked at photos of some spring flowers as inspiration.

We laid out the flowers and glued them onto the canvas. Then we added the green pipe cleaners as the stems.

Then we glued colourful buttons in the inside of the egg cartons.

They turned out really pretty!

Our mammies needed a card too so they knew the flowers where for them!
