Birthday Fun

We love to help our friends celebrate their birthday. It is important to share in these special days with our friends.

One of the boys in the class beside us had his birthday today.

We threw him a surprise party in the lovely sunshine.

We all got a treat at the party and some juice.

We all played on the bikes and with the footballs after all the food was gone! We had a blast!

The Farm comes to Kilcoskan

A Farmer from Meath brought some of his animals to visit us today in Kilcoskan.

He gave each of the classes a talk about what the animals need.

He showed us what they like to eat and where they like to sleep.

He brought some chickens who where so relaxed that they even laid an egg!

The geese made some really loud noises!

The farmers' favourite was the pigs. They have very sensitive skin. One of them got sun burnt the other day and the farmer had to put cream on him today.

The baby calf was having a lie down.

The mammy sheep and her baby lambs where busy nibbling on the grass.

We were very lucky and got to hold one of the baby chickens.

He was so small, we had to be very gentle.

Paper Maché

We let it dry for a couple of days and gave it its first coat of paint today.

We had a blast making lots of mess today.

We experimented with making Paper Maché.

We mixed water with glue.

We dipped strips of paper into the maché and laid them onto a blown up balloon.

We worked well in pairs at this project.

Wait until you see what we make with the dried finished project. Make sure to check back for updates.

Our Trip to the Farm

For our first Social Trip this year we went to visit Newbridge Farm and playground.

We got to see lots of different animals on the farm.

It was so hard to pick our favourite!

We got to see some new born baby chicks. The red light is keeping them lovely and warm.

There were lots of different types of pigs on the farm. Some of them where still FAST asleep when we where looking at them and some where having lots of fun playing in the sun.

The baby goats where having lots of fun, jumping around in the pen with their mam and dad.

The Turkeys were making LOTS of noise!

The horse was really friendly. He wanted to say Hi to us.

We were lucky to get up close to a very pretty Peacock. We all loved his beautiful tail feathers.

Then after we met all the animals we had a bit of lunch to get some energy to help us have lots of fun in the playground.

Then we headed to the playground and had a blast on all of the different climbing frames, swings and see-saws!

Talk about balance!

Comphy swing......

Don't get dizzy now!

Lots of smiles today......
