Sports Day

We had sports day today. We were lucky and the rain kept off. 

We had so much fun running around taking part in the obstacle races and games. 

One part of the obstacle race was carrying really heavy buckets! We had a blast trying to keep the water in the bucket and race our friends!

We will get a chance to try out the rest of the games over the week. 

Jellyfish Invasion!

We are learning about Jellyfish at the moment in our class.


We learnt that they have no brain yet are very intelligent.

They are able to solve puzzles to get the food that they want.

We learnt to be careful of their tentacles as they can sting.


We decided to make some of our own Jellyfish to decorate our classroom.


First we looked at some photos of real life jellyfish and noticed that they can be a large variety of colours. Here we are painting the bodies of our jellyfish lovely rainbow colours.

To complete our sea scene we started to paint some colourful fish to accompany our jellyfish. 

We looked at some photos of real life tropical fish and used that as our inspiration.

Skittles

We learnt a new game today.

We learnt how to play skittles.

We all took turns and had lots of fun!

Shaving Foam Worms

We got to see some "worms" in our classroom today.


As part of our language activities we helped to make some Shaving Foam Worms.


First we used our language to tell our friend how much shaving foam to squirt out.

Then we sprinkled on some lovely sparkly glitter onto the foam.

Then we squished another plant pot on top of the first one and made the squishy worms.

We had lots of fun looking at the experiment today!

Father's Day Art

We all love our daddies here in our class.

To show them how much we care we made a special Father's Day card for them. 

Here we are painting the sun for the centre of the card. 

We created some fluffy clouds for the top of the cards.

Then we stuck down the sun for the centre of our card.

The final creations are very pretty. We hope our dads like them and enjoy the lovely message that we all wrote inside our cards.

Library Trip

This week we got to go to the local library in Ashbourne.

We all signed up for our own card for the Meath Library Service.

We browsed through the books and after a while picked a book that we liked the look of.

Then after a while we went up to the library desk and gave in our card to borrow our chosen book.

We enjoyed borrowing our books and exploring our local library.

We got to have a picnic and our snack in the local playground.

As a special treat as it was our last trip we got to have lunch in Mc Donalds.

We had a lovely chat with our friends while we ate our food.

Game Time

We got a new game in our class this week. 

It is called "heads up." We put head bands on our heads and our friends have to give us clues about the picture and we try and guess what it is. 

It was lots of fun!
