Christmas Art

It's getting to that time of year again.

Christmas is firmly on our radar here in our classroom.

Two of the boys from our class made their own cribs from scratch. They used shoeboxes for the stable and clay to make the characters. Each crib turned out completely unique.

We decided to make some sock snowmen today. We used a white sock, rice, thread and some buttons to decorate.

Here are our six socksnow man family all together. Last thing we need to do is give them names!

We decorated our door today for the Christmas carol concert. Poor Santa is stuck in the chimney!

Here we are with our snowman decorations for the tree and our written cards.

We finished off our Christmas cards today. We gave the reindeer their antlers and noses.

Today as a sensory experiment made SNOW.

It was two simple ingredients mixed together.

It did give the texture of snow. It came together and would could make little snowballs.

We continued with the Christmas tree theme today. We painted half of a tree then pressed the other half of the paper back on itself. We opened it up to a lovely symmetrical Christmas tree.

A while ago we designed our own Cheistmas cards. They came back from the printer today. The designs all turned out lovely. We hope your family and friends enjoy getting the cards!

Today we made some modern art inspired Christmas trees. We cut out strips of different coloured card and layers them to made a tree. We then stuck lovely gold star on the top of our tree.

We decided to get a start on making some special decorations for all of our Christmas trees at home.

We mixed, cut out and baked the shapes ourselves. Then today we gave them the first coat of paint.

We hope to add lots of glitter and ribbon when they are dry.

The ribbon went on today!
